The Department of Communication Science and Community Development of Faculty of Human Ecology (SKPM-FEMA), of Bogor Agricultural University, organized  Departmental level Workshop on Graduate Studies Program, on Tuesday, 19 August 2014. The workshop was officially opened by the Chairman of the Department of SKPM-FEMA, Dr. Siti Amanah. The Workshop was held at the Papyrus Hotel, Bogor, and was attended by about 60 participants, comprised of faculty members, alumni and alumni users.
 
The Secretary of the Department of SKPM-FEMA, Dr. Dwi Sadono, explained that the  objectives of the workshop were effort to produce quality graduates who have competences as set by the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI).”  In addition, this workshops was to respond the request of the Dean of School the Graduate Studies for the implementation of the new curriculum for the Graduate Program which will be implemented effective the next odd semester of School Year 2014/2015," said Dr. Dwi who was accompanied Dr. Anna Fatchiya.
 
It was said, that  the connectivity  of ASEAN member countries as stated in AFTA will be implemented at the end of 2015, thus all ASEAN member countries should open its doors for free trade. Accordingly, Indonesia should improve the quality of its human resources (HR) for its competitiveness due to the mobility of labour. Therefore, the demands of quality undergraduates and graduates who are competitive must be met.
 
To produce such competent graduates, the development relevant curriculums are really required, they should be supported by quality learning processes, infrastructure and facilities, quality coaching, including a conducive learning atmosphere. "We expect that this workshop, will recommend formula for suitable curriculum to furnish students with relevant learning materials to enable them to sharpen their required competencies, as mandated to SKPM-FEMA," said Dr. Dwi.
