Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO (KNIU) Ministry of Education and Cultureof Indonesia, in collaboration with L’Oreal Indonesia held socialization program for 2014Fellowship For Women In Science (FWIS), at Dramaga Campus, on 6 May 2014. During which 12 Universities in West Java, five Faculties as well as other Centers under the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) were invited for the this event. This special event was actually the series of roadshowsplanned by  KNIUfor universities in Indonesia.
 
Chief Executive KNIU of Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia, Prof. Dr.AriefRachman, in his remarks stated that the aims of FWISis to provide opportunities for young female Indonesian scientists to develop their careers. In addition this fellowships is also expected to motivate them to enhance the discovery and innovation in the international arena for the advancement of  the science in Indonesia.
 
IPB Rector,Prof Dr HerrySuhardiyanto,who officially opened this socialization program welcomedsuch event and appreciated highly for female researchers who have  tremendous perseverance in their careers. “Perseverance is really needed to do the research projects”, said Rector. 
 
Head of Communication of PT L’Oreal Indonesia,Melanie Masriel said that in its  16 years period of international cooperation, and 10 years of UNESCO-L’Orealnational cooperation, the Fellowship For Women In Science program has become the most successful programs to create jobs and scientific networks for female researchers around the world. To date 1,200 women scientists from 103 countries successfully utilized funding supports from this Fellowships program to implement their research projects. 
 
Chief of LPPM IPB,Dr. H.Prastowo, and Deputy Head of Research of LPPM,Prof. Dr.AgikSuprayogi, attended the meeting. Dr.TitiekSumarti, who was the moderator for this social program was  theHead of the Center for Gender and Children Study (PKGA) of LPPM. Finally, Dr.NeniSintawardani, the Senior Researcher of Physics Research Centerof LIPI, who is  one of the 16thIPBalumni was among guests of the special event.  (Wied).
