Discourse Forum Held the Seminar on “Rural Law”

On 24/5, Postgraduate Student Forum (Discourse Forum) of IPB held the National Seminar on “Undang-undang Desa: Masa Depan Pembangunan Ekonomi dan Pertanian Indonesia / Rural Law: the Future of Economic and Agricultural Development in Indonesia”. This Seminar was meant for analyzing various public issues related to Rural Law. “Being a new hope and a village becomes the forefront of the development effort of motion derived from the community initiatives, to achieve welfare and prosperity as well as sustainable justice in empowering the rural community of farmers and fishermen. Rural Law is expected to be a new model. The village is the main pillar for governance. The village that has been overlooked and touched, can be considered for example by directing how to build the village that can realize the welfare for farmers and fishermen,” said Chief Executive, Mujiburrahman. The Chairman of the Discourse Forum of IPB, Abdul Syukur, added, “We hope this Rural Law can answer and provide a better life. Welfare and economic prosperity are not always located in the urban area, but in establishing Indonesia it must start from the village.” This Seminar presented a number of speakers including: Tarmizi A. Karim (Director General of Community and Village Empowerment), Yan Herizal (Member of DPR RI of Special Community of Rural Law), Prof. Dr. Hermanto Siregar (Vice Rector of Resources and Strategic Studies of IPB), and Dr. Arif Satria (Dean of Faculty of Human Ecology of IPB).
