Approximately 1,100 high school students in One-Day Lecture at IPB Thursday, March 27, 2014

Approximately 1100 high school students (SMA) from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Sukabumi and Cianjur (Jabodetabek-Suci) attended a-day lecture at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Saturday (22/3). Additionally, they were also invited to the tours to Faculties of their interests directly assisted the Student Executive Board of Student Family (BEM KM) of IPB. During the tour, they were encouraged to observe and feel the laboratory practices in IPB.
 
Head of Promotion Division of the Law Office, Promotion and Public Relations of IPB, Dr. DVM. M. Fahrudin said that, in order to introduce to the campus life, IPB invites and provide an opportunity for Islamic/senior high school students, especially those of Grade XII majoring in Natural Science throughout Jabodetabek-Suci to get more information about IPB. "We expect to get the feel of the programs One Day at IPB with one-day lecture activities in IPB campus and a campus tour."
 
Lectures in IPB include agricultural sciences and the sciences that support the development of agriculture in its broadest sense to develop Indonesian agriculture. These are also as a means of promotions and arousing the interests of SMA/ MA to take further studies in the undergraduate programs or the degree program (S1), particularly in the field of agriculture in the broad sense and introduce the student life to the Islamic/senior high school students.
 
After these activities, some students gave testimonies through their social networking or IPB Green TV coverage. Nadhif Yonda Raditya in his Twitter account stated, "All the demonstrations presented earlier were cool." Intan Deliar of MAN Leuwiliang said, "I followed this because I wanted to get into the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine because of love with animals. Meanwhile, Jane of SMA PGRI 1 Bogor expressed, "One-Day Lecture at IPB was exciting; the lecturers were not boring, not always serious but there was laughing and jokes." "It was fun to be one-day student of a university. Making friends from different places. The older fellow students are also very friendly. Thanks to the one-day lecture at IPB, I really felt excited and got more knowledge. I am getting interested to take studies IPB next year," said Novi Anggraini of SMAN 1 Cibarusah in his Twitter account. (Mtd)
