Prof. Didin: Don’t Be a Bankrupt Person
Professor of Faculty of Economics and Management, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Didin Hafidhuddin cited the words of the Prophet Muhammad that it is indeed in a big loss for a bankrupt person. "The definition of bankruptcy is not the kind of a trade loss. He is a man who likes doing worship, diligent prayer, fasting, zakat and hajj, but his mouth is full of ‘poison’. He stops his fellow career. He always makes people against one another and is slanderous, while those that he hurt have not yet forgiven because he has not had the time to apologize," said Prof. Didin when delivering Tausyiah (advice) in the Halal bi Halal of IPB Retired Employee Association on Wednesday (5) in the Darmaga Campus.
Later in the afterlife, continued Prof. Didin, the worshippers’ deeds are weighed. The worship deeds are then reduced gradually to zero to cover his sins and given to people who had been slandered. Moreover, the sins of those who are harmed are given to the worshippers. "That’s the person who is really bankrupt. Let us not become the losers, who go bankrupt in this world and the hereafter," said Prof. Didin.
The primacy of face to face meeting can not be replaced by the technological sophistications. According to him, we can send a short message service (SMS), send cards, letters or the like, but it will not replace the significance and impression of face to face Silahturahmi (meeting in person to tie warm and affectionate relationship). "By meeting face to face, we shake hands (forgiving each other), cleaning our sins and lengthening our age. We can embrace and forgive each other. Let us sacrifice a least the time to establish relationship among fellow Muslims. Do not take the reason we are busy, and we do not take the time to keep warm relationship with relatives," said Prof. Didin.
In his speech, Chairman of the Association of IPB Retired Employees, Prof. Soedarmadi called Halal bi Halal participants for always being grateful for many blessings God has given us. "Let us be thankful for the gifts God has given us such as health and long life," said Prof.Soedarmadi. The Halal bi Halal was entertained by Choir Group "Aki-Nini" led Prof. Utomo Kartosuwondo (Mtd).
