Rector  of IPB inaugurated 15 officials of IPB on (13/9) in Darmaga campus of IPB, Bogor. They are Dr.Dra. Nastiti Kusumorini, Prof. Dr.Ir. Ujang Sumarwan, M.Sc., Prof. Dr.Ir.Noer Azam Achsani, MS., Dr.Ir. Sukenda, M.Sc., Prof.Dr.Ir. Sambas Basuni, MS., Dr.Ir.Ruly Anwar, M.Si., Dr.Ir.Agus Hikmat, M.Sc.F.Trop., Drs. Badollahi Mustafa, M.Lib., Suherman, SE., Supriyanto, SE., Tjetjep Supardi, Diyanti S.Kom., Yani Mulyani A.Ma., Kosasih Idja Suhardja, Gigih Budiarto, S.IP.

“ I am confident those selected and inaugurated today will be able to work hard, sincerely, honestly and with full dedication,” said IPB Rector, Prof. Dr.Ir Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc., in his speech.

Rector gave the following messages to the inaugurated officials. Vice Dean of Graduate School is required to assist the Dean to make the Graduate School the front line in conducting graduate education of high quality in Indonesia. Rector indeed expects that the Graduate School can be one of the major pillars to put into effect the IPB’s vision to become a world class research university. This is based on the condition if we wish to turn IPB into a center of excellence in science, technology, and culture, with its achievements that can be measured in terms of benchmarks, international award and recognitions over high quality research results in both international scientific publications and technological patents.

Rector really expects that Vice Dean can help the Dean with the efforts to obtain the A status of Accreditation from BAN-PT for all study programs (master and doctoral degrees) ini IPB and international accreditations for some study programs. It is also important and necessary that the Dean of Graduate School be assisted with the implementation of a web-based academic administration system to reduce the load of counter interactions. This is important to improve services to the students and for the administration process to run effectively and efficiently.

Assistant Director of Academic and Student Affairs and Assistant Director of Public Affairs, Finance and Human Resources in the Business Management Program are asked to help the Director of Management and Business Program of IPB to develop it into a postgraduate study at the forefront in the field of management and international business at the same time as a center of excellence in education, research, consultancy and training in the field of management and business. Rector also really hopes that MB-IPB can become one institution that is able to produce a new generation of innovative business leaders, entrepreneurship spirited and international vision. Therefore, Director of MB Program of IPB needs to continue to develop the range of courses (Master and Doctoral) creatively in both regular and international classes.

Rector is very proud of the accomplishment already achieved by MB-IPB program that it is ranked first in the Indonesian version of Webometrics ranking Business School. This achievement should be maintained. Rector also indeed hopes that MB-IPB continues to improve academic performance, and management also contribution to the revenue of IPB. Rector also asks them to continue to increase the involvement of lecturers from the faculties of IPB in various academic activities.
 
Head of Aquaculture Department, Head of Department of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism and Its Secretary, and the Secretary of the Plant Protection Department are asked to develop the department as a spearhead in the administration of academic degrees of S1, S2, and S3. The tasks of head and secretary of the department include 1) to formulate a work plan and programs of the department, 2) to assign tasks and evaluate the lecturer in the department in carrying out the three duties of higher educations, 3) to improve the quality in the implementation of the three main duties, and 4) to set up the annual operating cost plan based the existing regulations.

Rector also seriously hopes that the department is able to be one of the spearheads in the effort to increase international publications in terms of both quantity and quality. The heads of departments are expected to be able encourage IPB lecturers to continue to improve scientific publications in national and international journals. Each department has to be able to produce innovations through research and development of technology and also support the commercialization of 179 IPB’s innovations recorded in the 510-plus most prospective innovative works in Indonesia.

Head for the Division of Archives Library Development and Management is asked to assist the Head of Library IPB to create and manage an integrated, reliable and modern archival system in accordance with the existing principles, rules, and archival standards and regulations. The university’s system reliability is also very important to ensure the availability of authentic and reliable records, ensure the protection of the institution and state’s interests, support the realization of good university governance, and improve the quality of public services.

Head of Sub-Directory of Administration and Human Resource Development, Head of Career Development Section and Head of Recruitment and Performance Monitoring section in the Directorate of Human Resources are required to assist the Director of Human Resources to coordinate the technical / administrative tasks and ensure all administrative functions in the Human Resources Development run well, involving: planning of human resource needs; HR recruitment and employment contracts; human resource and career development (career examination, certificate adjustment examination, rotation, promotion, disciplinary sanction); performance assessment; coordination and management of education and training; personnel administration services (promotion, periodic salary increase, functional promotion, allowance of overpricing/KP4); decruitmen; coordination with related units in resolving HR issues; development of labor relations in the institution; internalization of work culture. In addition to the important routine tasks, Rec
tor requires that the existing HR data base can be developed into a reliable data base through intensive cooperation with the Directorate of Communications and Information Systems.

Head of the Sub-Directorate of Property Management in the Directorate of Facilities and Property is required to assist Director of Facilities and Property with technical and administrative duties in the coordination and monitoring of property management activities based on the existing regulation for an efficient implementation of the institution’s tasks.

"I want you to ensure that the functions of monitoring the procurement, utilization, maintenance, repair and removal of property in IPB operate in accordance with the existing regulations. Specifically, I require that our warehouses can be maintained in the best possible way so that they do not operate well, but they are beautiful as well," said the rector.

Head of Academic Facilities Section is required to assist Head of Sub Directorate of Facilities Management with the technical / administrative tasks and the coordination in the inspection and recording of physical facilities owned by the institution, and technical services of maintenance and physical improvement of academic facilities. Rector really hopes all academic facilities of IPB to function properly and adequately to support education, research and community services. I call for great attention that academic facilities can be really well prepared before they are used for lectures, lab, research, seminars and other academic activities.

Head of Administration or Clerical Work of Department of Nutrition in the Faculty of Human Ecology is asked to carry out the task of structuring and implementing the administrative work in the academic quality assurance and other administrative matters to support and facilitate the tasks of Head of Department; monitor and evaluate the administrative system associated with the administrative activities, management of order and security, as well as development of educational staff in the department.

Head of General Section in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine is asked to assist the management and Head of Administrative Work in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with the implementation of general administration; management of order and security, and other important aspects to support and facilitate the implementation and management of the faculty.
