The Opening of the 48th Anniversary: Bogor Agricultural University Awarded Compensation for 800 Orphans of 17 Villagers Around the Camppus
In front of hundreds of orphans and invited guests consisted of representatives from the PT. Antam (Various Mines company), the Deans, Professors, faculty members, leaders of villages around the campus, and community leaders, Rector of Bogor Agricultural University, Prof. Dr.Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M. Sc officially launched the opening of the 48th Anniversary of the University. A series of program was set for the the Anniversary and the Agenda for the opening of the Anniversary was the granting of compensation to the orphans of villages around the campus.
A total of 800 (eight hundred) orphans from 17 (seventeen) villages from around the campus were granted compensation from Bogor Agricultural University at Grha Widya Wisuda on 18 August 2011. While wiping the head of the orphan, the compensation which were consisted of the sholat equipments and cash were handed in symbolically by the Rector, Prof. Dr.Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M. Sc and his staff.
On behalf of all community members of the University he expressed his sincere thanks to the villagers, and he stasted in its 48th anniversary, the University will continue to encounter numerous challenges, therefore, the University will continue to develop and to improve its performance. Close relationships with various partners will be established, and the most important of all is social relationships with the community of villages around the campus, "he said in his remarks.
Rector stated, that formerly only 14 (fourteen) villages were listed to be granted for the compensations of the University, but this year IPB will put additional 17 (seventeen) villages to be granted for the compensations. The number of orphans who receive for the compensation are also increased. "Every year the total funds being collected always more than the needed. Alhamdulillah, what had been donated hopefully will be accepted and those who donated will be blessed by God Almighty, "in his prayer.
The “Buka Bersama” and giving compensation to the orphans program was the agenda of the opening of the the 48th anniversary of IPB. Vice Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Dr. Rinekso Soekmadi said that the present anniversary theme "Bogor Agricultural University Innovation Towards a Agricultural New Era". It is expected that the University will contribute innovations for the development of Indonesia.
At the same occasion the Director General CSR PT. Antam Tbk," Mr. Deni Maulasa, MM. symbolically handed over a Campus Bus to the Rector of the University, which will be utilized to provide campus transportation to students. "PT. Antam a company which is engaged in mining, is aware of its environment and society. PT. Antam takes Bogor Agricultural University graduates to be recruited as its employees for the reclamation and CSR jobs, "said Deni also the alumni of the University.
In the future, PT Antam will administer scholarships for 50 (fifty) students from West Java and will build a dormitory for students, he added. In addition, present in the event the Regional Secretary II of West Java Province, Mr. Wawan Ridwan, who represented the Governor who was unable to attend.
