Opening of the Sixth Anniversary and Introduction Period of New Students to the Faculties, Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB

Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA) IPB was 6 years old on August 6, 2011. Commemorating its 6th anniversary, the youngest faculty at the IPB held various activities, including a series of seminar entitled "Towards a Locally Popular and Global Faculty of Human Ecology“ (4 / 8). The sixth anniversary was marked by the opening of the Introduction Period of Student Batch 47 to the Faculty, in Auditorium of Andi Hakim Nasoetion, Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor.

The series of seminars for 4 consecutive days (4-7/8) were filled by the well-known speakers such as Rector of the University of Paramadina, Anies Baswedan; IBEKA Director, Ir. Tri Mumpuni; Chief Director of ANTARA, Dr. Mukhlis; Vice Dean of FEMA, Prof. Ahmad Sulaeman, MS.; Head of Department of Community Nutrition, Dr. Budi Setiawan; Head of the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Dr. Hartoyo; and Head of Department of Communication Science and Community Development, Dr. Soeryo Adiwibowo,

The opening of Anniversary started with the seminar presenting the main speakers: Rector of IPB Prof. Hery Dr.Ir Suhardiyanto, M.Sc., Dean of FEMA Dr. Arif Satria, and Founder of Indonesia Heritage Foundation Dr. Sofyan Djalil.

In his speech, Rector of IPB cited three aspects as the culture and characteristics of IPB students, namely a strong tradition of analysis and synthesis, numerical strength, and system formulation.

"It is these three factors that can later be useful in performing duties as a young man," said Rector.

On another occasion, Rector of Paramadina Anies Baswedan motivated the students to excel and have strong leadership.

"You must become a qualified student not only in the academic capacity but in leadership as well because it would be beneficial for the future," he said.

Anies Baswedan forwarded his message that students can excel with these indicators: a GPA of 3.00/3.25, being a good leader, a vision for the future, active in organization, mastering at least three foreign languages, writing (scientific papers, opinions, articles, etc.), networking, creative, innovative, motivating yourself and others, standing out as a student (in art, literature, culture, sports, cinematography, etc..)
