Currently many products of fishery, livestock and food crops, plantations, forestry in Indonesia do not have an institution responsible for the quality of food safety; so many products from Indonesia are rejected in other countries. So says the Head of Human Resources Development Center (P2SDM), Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB, Dr. Ir Pudji Mulyono in his speech on opening the HACCP Training based On ISO 22000, (19/7).

Furthermore Dr. Praise adds, "Like it or not there must be a body in charge of food quality. Otherwise, Indonesia will be left behind." A similar view was expressed by Dr. Heru Sumaryanto, saying that public’s understanding of food quality assurance is still low; so the training like this is very important.

Dr. Heru regrets if students involved with the products above are not equipped with a certificate of quality assurance. He emphasizes that students closely connected to the field of agribusiness and agro-industries should be facilitated to hold a certification of quality responsibility related to their expertise.

This training, according to Dr. Heru, is a form of professional certification in the management of food safety for students, lecturers / PNS (state employees) / practitioners. This HACCP training was organized by P2SDM of IPB in cooperation with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, and Ministry of Forestry. (Mtd)
