Agrianita IPB holds Writing Training and Competition for Beginners

As many as 45 people (mothers in the milieu of IPB) were taking part in the "Writing Training For Beginners" held by Agrianita IPB, Thursday (28/10) at Wisma Land Huiss, Darmaga Campus of IPB. As part of the 4th Anniversary of Agrianita IPB, it presented four resource persons namely Prof. Ali Khomsan, Dr. Ir. Euis Sunarti, Dr. Ir. Diah Krisnatuti, Tien Herawati, SP, M.Sc., and Director of IPB Press, Dr. Ir. Elang Ilik Martawijaya.

Prof. Ali Khomsan invited women to express their ideas or experiences in written articles. Through writing, he explained, we could increase public knowledge and ours, expose ourselves, and get honorariums.

Dr. Euis said that writing is fun. "Who says that writing is hard? Just imagine if  the world has no writers and no writings, surely it will be quiet," said Dr. Euis.

Meanwhile Dr. Elang Ilik described the process of writing a book for sale. He also asserted that women can start to write without having to leave home.

This training was coupled with a writing competition for the participants on the theme of Mother’s Day. All  articles will be assessed and the winners will be announced at the peak of the next Mother’s Day commemoration on December 21, 2010. Mother’s Day itself is set on 22 December. (mtd)
