Institute of Science and Technology Area (LKST) IPB University held a Workshop on the Preparation of Action Plan and Business Plan. This program is a form of facilitation and education provided by IPB University for innovation-based businesses. The activity was held at the Startup Center Building, IPB Campus Taman Kencana, Bogor (26/25).

Chairperson of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi said in her speech, it always encourages the growth of startups through business incubation programs.

“Through this incubation program, we hope that the fostered startups can develop well and sustainably,” said Prof Erika.

Furthermore, Prof Erika explained that in this 2025 business incubator program, LKST IPB University accommodates 25 startup teams. However, she is optimistic that the number will increase in the coming year, along with the increasing number of startups that are fostered and developed through the facilitation of the Science Techno Park (STP) IPB University.

“Number is not the only indicator of success. What we hope for is sustainability. We want to see startups that continue to exist and grow after the process, not just during the incubation period,” she said.

Prof Erika, emphasized the importance of collaboration between startups and innovators at IPB University. With IPB University as the winner of the most research funds at the national level and the owner of hundreds of patents that have been granted, the synergy between innovation and creativity is considered the key to the existence and competitiveness of startup businesses.

“Startups will survive if they are based on innovation and creativity. If there is no product modification or diversification, it will be difficult to survive in a competitive market,” she said.

In addition, Prof Erika encouraged startup players to utilize local resources and not depend on raw materials from abroad.

“If we want to build this country, let’s build businesses from local resources, materials from our own homes,” she concluded.

In closing, she encouraged all participants to develop action plans and business plans that are right on target, with clear indicators of achievement, so that the quality of the products produced can attract a broad market. (AS) (IAAS/LAN)
