IPB University Launching Healthy Lifestyles for Work-life Balance

IPB University launched the Healthy Lifestyles for Work-life Balance program. The program will be routinely carried out every Friday morning at 07.00-09.00 WIB in order to increase the productivity of IPB University residents and work-life balance. With this program, a healthy lifestyle is expected to become a culture for every citizen of IPB University.
Work-life balance (WLB) is a person’s ability to balance work with his personal/family life. Based on various literatures, WLB can affect employee productivity and reduce stress levels, and can increase strong relationships between employees.
The inauguration was carried out with gymnastics with IPB University residents on Friday (28/7) at Telaga Inspiration, Dramaga Campus. Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, the Vice Rector for IPB University in the field of Resource and Infrastructure Resilience in his presentation said, this joint exercise activity was a launching for Healthy Lifestyles for Work-life Balance activities so they could work optimally.
“This activity is also intended for early-level students in sports courses so that it is not always done in class, but with real activities in the field,” he said.
He asked the unit leaders to coordinate this activity so that it continues to run in order to achieve the goal of a healthy lifestyle. “In the future it is hoped that this activity will have an impact on employee productivity and performance, so that it can maintain the various achievements that have been achieved by IPB University at this time,” he said.
“This sports activity is also expected to become a habit that is attached to employees, both lecturers and education staff (tendik) in each work unit on a regular basis,” continued Dr Alim.
The Rector of IPB University, Prof. Arif Satria who was present at the inauguration of the activity hoped that this activity could become an arena for improving health, especially for IPB University employees.
“We also have the opportunity to check our health at the IPB University Clinic to always check the condition of our bodies. This event is not just a formality. All work units must carry out their respective sports activities, such as healthy walks, gymnastics, cycling, badminton, futsal, football, volleyball, yoga and so on,” said Prof Arif.
He asked to be able to take advantage of the time from 07.00 to 09.00 WIB in the morning to exercise, chat, relax or stay in touch with lecturers, students and other students. “Because with health, the quality of work will be better and more productive,” he concluded. (Lp/Rz) (IAAS/Res)
