Priliani Madina, a student from Food science and technology, achieved best kartini costume in the prestigious event El Jhone Kartini week, held by El Jhone Pageants. This event was held on Kasablanka City Mall, South Jakarta, mid-April.

Prilli’s biggest motivation to join El Jhone Kartini Week 2018 is to prove that being Kartini is not just about beautiful from the outside, but also being smart and elegant.

“At first I was envy to join because there’s a height requirement, but I did not expect to get through the top 8. Turns out that the important assessment is not only my appearance but also my achievement and my essay. We were selected from our attitudes and ethics during activities and talent show. I performed the Jaipong Dance and fashion show in front of many people, "Said Prilli

As an agriculture student, Prilli is very proud and happy to be able to reach the top 8 even though she has no skill in modelling, public speaking, and etc.

“As a student of food technology, I’ve written an essay on how to educate women in behaving through social media, and how to create and develop businesses related to local food products” hoped prilli.

There are many things that Prilli obtained during the event, from knowing various people, to how she learned to interpret kartini figure in her daily life.

Prilli said that her success to get the Best Kartini Costume title was helped and supported by her mother.

“Before leaving umrah, my mother spent her time to guide me how to behave using Javanese Pakem costume including on how to walk like a Javanese, how to sit, ethics, and etc. that reflects our own costumes, "said Prilli. (UAM / Zul)
