The Legal Bureau together with the Directorate of General and Infrastructure (DUI) of IPB University conducted a review of the physical IPB University land plot located at The Southeast Asian Regional Center For Tropical Biology (Seameo Biotrop), Jl Raya Tajur, Pakuan, South Bogor, Bogor City, West Java. This visit was conducted in order to provide information to support public information disclosure for the community. The group was welcomed by a representative from Seameo Biotrop, Ujang Sanusi.

Waluya Suprihartono, SH, Head of Legal Services Section, Legal Bureau of IPB University said that this visit resulted in some important information related to the status of ownership and use of IPB University land.

From the observations, he explained, there are several conditions in the field related to the use of IPB University’s land assets. First, the back gate bordering the land of the Center for Tropical Horticulture Studies (PKHT) IPB University is passed by local residents. Second, there is an access road belonging to PKHT IPB University that is passed by residents. And third, there is an abandoned building on the land of PKHT IPB University that must be revitalized or converted to its proper use.

“With these findings, in the future it is necessary to make improvements by the relevant parties,” he said during a recent review.

Meanwhile, Assistant Director of Infrastructure Facilities and Asset Inventory, DUI IPB University, Sulistiyono, SE, MSi added that the total area of land in Seameo Biotrop reached 20 hectares. “11 hectares are utilized by Seameo Biotrop and 9 hectares by PKHT IPB University,” he explained.

He revealed that the land in Seameo Biotrop already has a Certificate of Use Rights. Namely the Right to Use Certificate Number 1/Pakuan in the name of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Cq Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) RI (formerly. Ministry of Education and Culture RI Cq. IPB) covering an area of 80,090 m2. Then Right to Use Certificate No. 2/Pakuan in the name of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Cq. Kemdikbudristek RI (d/h. Department of Education and Culture RI Cq. IPB) covering an area of 117,490 m2.

In addition, the Right to Use Certificate Number 14/Pakuan in the name of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Cq. Kemdikbudristek RI (d/h. Department of Education and Culture RI Cq. IPB) covering an area of 3,910 m2. And Right to Use Certificate No. 15/Pakuan in the name of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Cq. Kemdikbudristek RI (d/h. Department of Education and Culture RI Cq. IPB) covering an area of 2,710 m2.

Based on the results of the review of the Legal Bureau of IPB University, in 1968, the Government of Indonesia formed Seameo. IPB University as a university that has the Indonesian Tropical Biology Research Center, was made by the government to be part of Seameo.

Then in 1988, IPB University and Seameo Biotrop made a cooperation agreement. So on the basis of the agreement, IPB University handed over the management rights (land) along with the inventory of the Indonesian Tropical Biology Research Center to Seameo Biotrop. (gie/Zul/Rz) (IAAS/NVA)
