IPB University Statistics Department Supports Sub-district HDI Measurement in Bandung Regency

One of the characteristics of successful development is an increase in the quality of life of the community which is reflected in improvements in terms of economy, health, and education. The success of one of the achievements is monitored from the value of the Human Development Index (HDI). Every local government, including the Bandung Regency Government, must facilitate this achievement.
In this context, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at IPB University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Communication, Information, and Statistics Office (Diskominfo) of Bandung Regency. The signing was carried out by the Dean of FMIPA IPB University, Dr Berry Juliandi with the Head of Diskominfo of Bandung Regency, H Yosep Nugraha, SH, MIP. The executor of this collaboration implementation activity is the Department of Statistics.
In his speech, the Head of the Department of Statistics of IPB University, Dr Bagus Sartono, said that his department has a strong commitment to supporting local governments in Indonesia to develop regional sectoral statistics that are useful in planning for successful development.
“The science of statistics and data science plays an important role in innovation for the development of these regional statistics,” he said during the signing of the collaboration at the Department of Statistics Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus.
In the same event, a cooperation agreement was also signed for the measurement of HDI of Sub-districts in Bandung Regency in 2023 between the Head of Statistics Division of Diskominfo Bandung Asep Rochmansyah, SSi, MIP with the activity coordinator Dr Agus Mohammad Soleh. This HDI measurement will use a small area estimation approach based on household survey results. (*/Rz) (IAAS/TNY)
