LPPM IPB University Provides Training for East Java Private University Colleges

The Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB University was invited by the University of Surabaya (Ubaya) to share experiences and strategies for developing a database of research and community service (PPM) in the presence of the East Java Community Colleges (PTS) on Friday (Friday) 10/1).
The training activity was attended by at least 100 participants from 40 private universities in East Java. “We need learning from IPB University related to efforts to improve the performance of PPM through database planning in LPPM, considering IPB University is a very good PTNBH and is ranked 2nd in the research performance of tertiary institutions in Indonesia,” said Prof. Suyanto, Chairperson of Ubaya LPPM.
This training raised the theme “Improving the performance of Higher Education PPM through Database Optimization” by presenting the resource person Prof. Dr. Agik Suprayogi, Deputy Head of LPPM IPB University for Research. There are two materials delivered at the same time by Prof. Agik namely the Utilization and Function of Database in Improving PPM Performance and the Formation of Database Team and Work Mechanism.
While other speakers, Dr. Triadiati delivered two materials, entitled Research Results Classification Techniques Based on the Research Master Plan (RIP) of Higher Education and the Process of Making and Publicating Database.
“We are grateful that the effort to build a PPM database at LPPM IPB University carried out since ten years ago, can be beneficial for universities in Indonesia. So far, LPPM IPB University annually holds database training at IPB and has been participated by 54 universities in Indonesia. With the addition of 40 private universities in East Java, it means that the LPPM IPB University database method has been studied by 94 universities in Indonesia, “said Prof. Agik.
“In addition, through a good database design it is very possible that the tertiary institution will be able to achieve PPM performance improvement well,” Triadiati said.
This activity was assessed by Ubaya to be successful and able to provide inspiration for participants in the PTS Association in East Java.
“It is hoped that this good collaboration will continue between IPB University and Ubaya in other PPM activities that begin with the development of cooperation in the form of memorandum of understanding (MoU) or memorandum of agreement (MoA) in the near future,” said Dr. Hazrul, Secretary of LPPM Ubaya.
