Wildan, the Young Entrepreneur of IPB, is Readyto Expand its Business in at least 20 countries in the world
M. Wildan Fauzan S, the student of the Diploma Program in Agribusiness Management batch 51, was named as Mahasiswa Berprestasi (Mapres Student of the Year) of Directorate of the Diploma Program of Bogor Agricultural University (DPD IPB) for 2017. His target to be elected as Student of the Year of DPD IPB has been written in his dream-book, he has got to dream big by setting himself seemingly impossible challenges since his first semester in the university. Building something he is passionate about is important as well, Wildan confessed to become competent in all respects entrepreneur need to be good self-motivators. This is the reason why he has to stay away from both academic and organizations activities, but he never give up with them.
Wildan managed to achieve his goal he had since his first semester to continue his pioneering efforts. Wildan is the founder of the Embracelet Supply, the Custom Silicone Bracelet manufacturers which is marketable through its Embracelet Online Shop (@embraceletsupply). The company was founded on 9 October 2014, in Bogor, Indonesia. At first, it specifies on university bracelet for university students who want to promote their almamater, then it diversifies its products into customized bracelets. Currently, its products are available in more than 15 universities in Indonesia. This wristband text can either be customized to fit an individual user’s demand or selected from an array of common predetermined phrases, such as City’ name (Bogor and Bandung) and fanbase Bracelet collaboration with Persib Bandung. Not only that, at present Wildan is developing a business in fashion by selling jackets and hats.
The turnover generated by the company was fairly fantastic. Within one month the company generates 50 – 80 million rupiah per month. To achieve all that, Wildan sacrifices something such his playing time and other organizational activities. Of course this is really a great conflict between business and his university studies for Wildan. In one side he has to maintain his higher grade-point average (GPA), and on the hand he has to manage his business running as expected, often this has weakened his physical condition.
Among the social activities Wildan participated in is, he is the Chairman of the Volunteers of Cinta Baca (non-government organization that run public library and other community empowerment). In this NGO he assists to teach English to local children; to assist establishing children's libraries in remote areas; as well as as tour guide for foreign guests who come to Cinta Baca. Finally, Wildan is the founder of Grak a social forum for young people to do social activities.
Like many entrepreneurs, Wildan loves creating things. Wildan stated that he was motivated by his desire to be useful to others, and he starts a business only if it will improve people’s lives or will be beneficial to society. To continue to raise his spirits, Wildan reads a lot of successful people’ books, watch a motivational video or engage in social and productive activities.
The road to sustainable growth of his business does not always run smooth. When he had been in Turkey for the student exchange program it was really a challenge for him as he had to run his business, keeping efforts for Mapres, and also finalizing his final project for graduation. Although Wildan had been in Turkey, he was capable to manage his business in Indonesia.
The next target within few years before he reaches 25 years, he planned to develop his business in the strong system, as well as to grow into a large-scale business is expanding its presence in at least 20 countries in the world. He is committed to continuously strengthening his brands, therefore he once travelled to Turkey to explore any possibilities to expand his business there. (Wied)
