IPB will Host The 23rd the Tri-U International Joint Seminar and Symposium

Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) was selected to be the host for the 23rd Tri-U International Joint Seminar and Symposium (IJSS) with the theme "Asian Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals", Monday-Thursday, 24-28 October 2016. The international event will be carried out simultaneously in three venues, namely Andi Hakim Nasution Building, Common Class Room (CCR) Building, and IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor. Tri-U International Joint Seminar and Symposium is offering young scientists and students a unique opportunity to exchange their ideas over the topics of Population, Food, Energy, Environment and new frontiers, such as ecological development, low carbon, etc.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Tri-U (IJSS), Dr. Sri Endah Agustina, stated that this annual event was initiated by the three universities, namely Chiang Mai University (Thailand), Mie University (Japan), and Jiangsu University (China). She explained that IPB has joined Tri-U when the this organization celebrated its 10th anniversary, on the 2003 in Japan. "IPB also consistently participated this annual event and had always successfully achieved to be the best, accordingly IPB then had been accepted as the 4th founder in 2009," said the lecturer of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biosystems (TMB), Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FATETA IPB).
The 23rd 2016 Tri-U IJSS will be held in IPB, and will be participated by seven countries, namely Jiangsu University (China) with 17 students and seven lecturer, Chiang Mai University (Thailand) with 11 students and 6 lecturer, Mie University (Japan) with 15 students and 8 lecturer, Bogor Agricultural University (Indonesia) with 18 students and one lecturer, Bangladesh Agricultural University (Bangladesh) with two lecturer, Suranaree University of Technology (Thailand) with 4 students, Gungxi University (China) with 7 students and 2 lecturer, Khabarovsk State University (Russia) with 1 and 2 students lecturer, Maejo University (Thailand) with 13 students and 2 lecturer, and Visayas State University Visca (Philippines) with one lecturer.
Dr. Endah stated that for the 23rd 2016 Tri-U IJSS, the OC has selected topics on population, food, energy, and environment. These topics are closely related to each other and all essential for sustainable and harmonious development of human survival. Global problems facing the world has increased dramatically, the population problem, which then causes problems of food security and sufficiency, as well as increasing demand for energy, and the environment is affected.
"We hope the 23rd 2016 Tri-U IJSS will be used as the character building for IPB students, to enable them to be more advanced and successfully achieve better future. The 23rd Tri-U IJSS will be differ from other scientific and professional activities, as in this special event their kinships will be affirm, "he added.
Items of the program will be consisted of several keynote addresses will be presented by college founder of Tri-U and invited speakers, some keynote lectures by scholars, as well as university students’ workshops where they collaborate and share innovative ideas to solve some challenging problems through active participation and intensive discussions.
