With reference to the results of ranking the QS World University Ranking 2016, published on Tuesday (6/9), accessible at http://www.topuniversities.com/qs-world-university-rankings, Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) was ranked as the 4th number the best university se Indonesia , IPB has successfully upgraded  one rank higher when compared to the results of last year ranking.
 
The listing of best universities across Asia IPB was ranked at 191st position,  and at world list’ IPB earned a place in the 701+ position. The ranking was conducted on 3,800 universities in 81 countries worldwide.
 
"In 2016, the QS – World Class University Ranking released the list of the world’s best universities, nine of which are the list of  the best universities in Indonesia in 2016. IPB is still rated into the 701+ ranks.  Among  those nine universities, overalls IPB’ ranking rises from 5 to 4, from 6 to 4 for academic reputation, and from 7 to 5 for employer reputation, "said Vice-Rector for Research and Cooperation IPB, Prof. Dr. Anas M. Fauzi in Bogor, on Tuesday, 6 September 2016. 
 
As QS relied on global survey of academics and online scientific papers database to obtain its data. The criteria used by QS is academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%), faculty/student ratio (20%), citations per faculty (20%), and proportion of international faculty (5%) and students (5%). Therefore, the number of achievements and reputation of IPB have to be improved, through strengthening research programs, increasing number and quality of international publications, increasing the ratio of faculty/student, improving graduate employability, and internationalization of academic (joint research and publication, joint/double degree programs, staff and student mobility ).
 
In addition IPB also continue to promote the innovations the university achieved and continue to disseminate those innovations to the communities, among others, 3S IPB rice, soybean species utilizing Technology of Saturated Water for tidal areas, and the development of Science and Technology Park.
 
In the QS World University Ranking by Subject in Agriculture and Forestry, IPB was earned a place in the 51-100 world best university. (Wied)
