Training Course on Ahli Kepelabuhanan (Port Experts) Ak-16

 Center for Coastal and Marine Resources Studies (PKSPL)  of the Institute of Research and Community Empowerment of IPB (LPPM IPB) in collaboration with the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, again organized the  Training Course on Ahli Kepelabuhanan (Port Experts) Ak-16, on 8-12 Augusut 2016, at Hotel Grand Mercure, Harmoni, Jakarta. This training was participated by 22 participants, consisted of the executives,  managers and staff of private companies, and government agencies working on ports and its related fields.

 

The Course was officially opened by the Director of Ports of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation, of the  Ministry  of Transportation. In his opening remarks he  stated that the quality performance and competent of human resources (HR) of ports is very important for the acceleration and improvements for port service.

 

The training materials for the course were the National Port Policies, Maritime Economic, Port Planning & Master Plan, Port and Terminal Operations, Port Business Development: Global Competition Perspective, Port Concession, Port Engineering Principle, Port Services, International Convention on the Port, Shipping and Marine Logistics, Port Facilities Maintenance, Pilotage Management, Shipping Operation, Challenge and Opportunity in Port Business Development, Port Investment Related to Logistics System and Supply Chain Management, Port Tariffs, Port Environment, International Best Practice on Port Development and others ,

 

After attending such course, and consultation programs with related experts, at the end the participants had to undertake written exam to get their certificate of port experts. The graduation of participants of the course and the certification of competences of port experts are based on the results of their written exam. PKSPL-IPB and the Directorate General of Sea Transportation planned to organize another  Training Course on Ahli Kepelabuhanan (Port Experts) Ak-17 on November 2016. (Wied)
