The Celebration of 108th Anniversary of Hari Kebangkitan Nasional (Harkitnas) 2016 at IPB Campus
Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB – Bogor Agricultural University) held the celebration of 108th Anniversary of Hari Kebangkitan Nasional (Harkitnas a National Awakening Day ceremonies), on Friday, 20th May 2016, at the Rectorate Field, Campus Dramaga, Bogor. The ceremony was led by the Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, and was attended by all Executive Boards of University, Faculty, Departments, faculty and staff of the university, Agrianita IPB, and students.
The theme of the 2016 Harkitnas celebration is " Mengukir Makna Kebangkitan Nasional dengan Mewujudkan Indonesia yang Bekerja Nyata, Mandiri dan Berkarakter = Recording the Meaning of National Awakening of Indonesia by Realizing the Real Work, Independence, and Having its Specific Character". Rector of IPB as the Pembina Upacara (Proponent of the Ceremony), he read the mandate of the Minister of Communication and Information of Indonesia, "Let the whole members of higher education and university communities meet any challenges we face currently by creating our capacity to work independently, an on our own characters".
"Let us focus to create our own work, self-reliance on everything, with our own character. Let’s think that we are facing the global competition, and it is no longer appears from our neighbour around our neighbourhood. But it is the global competition, where we must hand-in-hand with our friends and the nation to win the rivalries at the global level, as our rivals the world. A nation’s competitiveness depends on the capacity of our own industry to innovate and upgrade, to achieve high levels of productivity. Accordingly, we have to rise to become important nation to win the competition at the global level. Hopefully, in the 2016 celebration of 108th Anniversary of National Awakening, we will successfully improve our working performance to serve better to our communities" (Wied)
