Institut Pertanian Bogor (Bogor Agricultural University) organized the  international conference for Council of Rector of Indonesia State Universities (CRISU) and Council of University President of Thailand (CUPT), on Wednesday, 28 October 2015. It was  held at IPB International Convention Center (IICC) Bogor, and the theme was "Enhancing Management and Leadership of Indonesian and Thai Universities The 10th International Conference CRISU-CUPT toward the Implementation of Bandung Message 2015 to Strengthen South-Shout Cooperation".
 
The international event was officially opened by the Director General for Resources of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia, Prof.Dr. Ali Ghufron Mukti. In his opening remarks, he stated that South Asian countries must be able to be self-supporting themselves and independent, including higher education
 
Prof. Ali expected that southern states universities will become world class university that is completely self-sufficient, no longer depend on developed countries.
 
"Indonesia and Thailand have the passion to learn together to be the world class university. I hope our universities do not quite happy and satisfied to learn that their research  results were published internationally. Nor to be utilized as prototype, but they must be more than happy if they will accepted by the markets and to be mass produced by the industry, "explained Prof. Ali.
 
On this occasion, Rector of IPB who is also served as Chairman of CRISU, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, expected that such international meeting will serve as the official forum for establishing  cooperation and information sharing between the two countries for capacity building toward global challenges.
 
Coinciding with the international conference, the side event "Trilateral Scientific Meeting: Climate Change, Big Data Management and Health" was also organized. It was the scientific meeting of three countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand and France, that focused on topics such as climate change and health. (Wied)
