IPB University Innovation KKN-T Team Socialises How to Prevent and Handle Dengue Fever with PKK Tugumulya Village
IPB University students undergoing Innovation Real Work-Thematic Lecture (KKN-T) activities in Tugumulya Village conducted a Socialisation of Prevention and Management of Dengue Fever (DHF) at the Tugu Hamlet Hall, Tugumulya Village, Darma District, Kuningan, West Java.
Raihan Ariq, Tugumulya Village Coordinator in the KKN-T Innovation activity said that dengue fever is one of the national priorities in controlling infectious diseases in Indonesia. "Therefore, the purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge about how to prevent and treat DHF, starting from the causes of dengue fever, symptoms to the impacts that can occur," said Raihan.
The socialisation was delivered by Dily Sunarjo, AM Kep as the implementer of the DHF programme from the Puskesmas of Darma Sub-district and attended by dozens of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) cadres and midwives of Tugumulya Village as well as representatives of the Puskesmas of Darma Sub-district. PKK cadres were chosen with the hope of spreading prevention action throughout the village. The role of mothers as the most concerned with family health as well as educators for children is also the reason for choosing PKK cadres as participants.
"The percentage of DHF cases in Kuningan Regency reaches more than 50 percent of the total community, so this socialisation can help reduce the number," said Dily during the socialisation. In addition, she also mentioned that Tugumulya Village has a fairly good dengue prevention, seen from the low number of cases in this village.
This activity was well received, starting from the PKK cadres, village midwives to the Puskesmas of Darma Sub-district, because it can make the community more aware of the impact of DHF disease, its treatment and prevention. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
