Thousands of Job Seekers Flock to the IPB Job Fair 2026
As a concrete effort to support students and graduates in finding career paths that align with their passions and competencies, IPB University, through the Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship, and Alumni Relations, once again organized the IPB Job Fair Batch I 2026.
A total of 30 companies and industry partners from various sectors were present to offer job opportunities, internships, and career development. This time, the participating industries were predominantly from the agriculture, agroindustry, education, technology, and banking sectors. The event took place over two days (5/8–9) at the Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW) Building, Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
During the opening ceremony, IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet shared several messages. He emphasized that success is not solely measured by one’s position or income, but rather by the meaning of life and the contributions made to others.
“Numerous studies show that long term happiness and health are not determined solely by wealth or popularity. There are three key factors: good social relationships, meaningful work, and the sense that our lives contribute to others,” he said.
He explained that good work is not merely a job that generates income, but one that aligns with one’s interests and provides opportunities for continuous growth.
“Choosing a job isn’t just about getting a paycheck, but about how much we love the work we do, having opportunities to grow, and deriving value from that work,” he added.
During the event, the Rector also highlighted the importance of young people being prepared to face changes in the world of work, including advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).
“Don’t view AI as a competitor. The competition isn’t between humans and AI, but between humans who can effectively leverage AI,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, noted that the IPB Job Fair serves as a strategic bridge between industry and young talent.
“We hope this IPB Job Fair can bring together employers with talents both within and outside IPB. Moving forward, we are entering the era of talentism, where talent becomes a sought-after asset,” he explained.
Assistant Director of Career Development and Entrepreneurship, Rici Tri Harpin Pranata, SKPm, MSi, explained that they are targeting approximately 3.000 participants. In addition to IPB University students and alumni, the event is also open on a limited basis to the general public.
“The hope is that students and alumni can reach more industry partners, secure the best opportunities for growth, and build careers aligned with their individual potential,” he concluded. (AS) (IAAS/WSG)
