Commemorating Kartini Day, Agrianita IPB University Holds Festival Kartini 2023
To commemorate Kartini’s efforts and struggles, Agrianita IPB University holds various productive activities to improve the quality of life for women. The series of event are framed within an event entitled “Festival Kartini 2023” which will be held from April to June 2023.
The head of Agrianita IPB University, Retna Widayawati stated that, “As a women’s organization within the IPB University community, Agrianita is expected to embody the spirit of Raden Ajeng Kartini by making a positive contribution to herself, her family, her institution, and her nation.”
She said that the Festival Kartini 2023 is an effort to provide tangible contributions to Agrianita members and IPB University residents, in line with the organization’s motto of “giving values to the nation.” The event will feature a series of activities, including Kartini Day (8-19 May), DWP Insight (11 May), Free Health Check-ups (23-24 May 2023), Cooking Competition (23 May 2023), Art Performances (24 May 2023), Bazaar (23-24 May), and Mental Health Workshop (15 June 2023).
Through the Festival Kartini 2023 activities, Agrianita IPB University aims to reaffirm its role in upholding the values and spirit of Kartini’s struggle. “We hope that this event can serve as a reminder and motivation for all Agrianita members to make tangible contributions to their families, organizations, and nation,” she said.
The theme of the Festival Kartini 2023 is “Leap Higher.” Widayawati explained that the theme conveys the idea of expanding and enlarging the usefulness of the organization such as: by expanding the types and scope of activities, being creative with new ideas and concepts, seizing and utilizing opportunities, remaining committed to spreading as much benefit as possible to the wider community, and being independent.
Furthermore, she hopes that through this event, Agrianita IPB University members can increase their spirit and concern for themselves, their families, and their environment, foster an attitude of mutual respect, honor and love for differences, and encourage a spirit of giving and receiving through high-quality, useful, and competitive programs.
