Prof Anuraga Jayanegara Said That Journals are The Mouthpiece of Academic Reputation
Scientific journals owned by tertiary institutions often become a medium for disseminating information on the work of researchers and academics to have an impact nationally and globally. Currently, IPB University has 69 active scientific journals, with a distribution of 4 journals that have been indexed by Scopus, 54 journals are SINTA accredited, while 15 others have not been accredited.
Journals that have not been accredited, including 3 newly formed journals, then receive assistance towards accreditation from the Directorate of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation (DKaSRA) IPB University. There were 10 managers from 15 journals that had not been accredited attending the mentoring activity (24/2) in Rector's Meeting Room 2, Andi Hakim Nasoetion (AHN) Rectorate Building, Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor.
Prof Anuraga Jayanegara as Director of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation of IPB University in his remarks stated that the field of academic reputation related to scientific journals can refer to three things, namely quantity, quality, and continuity.
"So, of course, our target is to increase IPB University journals that are SINTA accredited and Scopus indexed. In terms of quality, we are trying to support the efforts of accredited and indexed journals to shift to a higher level. Then in terms of continuity, related to the efforts that will be made to maintain the sustainability of the journal," explained Prof Anuraga.
According to him, the purpose of this activity is to review the progress of each journal, so that every journal manager is better prepared to apply for SINTA accreditation.
“The journal is not just about publication. The journal is a mouthpiece of academic reputation. Existing resources need to be enhanced, including various supporting facilities. We ask for your support so that we all work together," concluded Prof Anuraga.
Assistant Director for Academic Reputation, Drh Fitriya Nur Annisa Dewi, PhD, said that this activity was a kick-off at the beginning of the year and it was hoped that it would be followed up to produce tangible results at the end of the year.
Scientific journal assistance activities towards SINTA accreditation presented Dr Iman Rusmana and Sulistiyo, AMd as resource persons. The agenda consisted of the presentation of materials related to SINTA accreditation requirements by Dr Iman which was then followed by presentations by each journal manager regarding the progress toward submitting for accreditation. The resource persons also provided reviews and input regarding the progress of each journal, accompanied by very active discussions. (Tia/Zul) (IAAS/HAP)
