Wrapped in Balinese Traditional Clothing, IPB University Rector Leads a Ceremony, Meeting, and Presents General Sociology Lecture

There was a unique view that morning, Oct 28th, 2019, in the event of the 91st Youth Oath Day commemoration. In IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor, hundreds of students, lecturers and education staffs filled the rectorate field to rejoice in the ceremony. The atmosphere was very lively. The boards leaders of IPB University and all ceremony participants wore traditional clothes.

 

The Rector was wearing a traditional Balinese clothing. Meanwhile the other leaders also looked dashing and elegant in regional costumes, including the Deputy Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Drajat Martianto who wore Betawi traditional clothes, Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance, Prof. Dr. Agus Purwito and Vice Rector for Fields Cooperation and Information Systems performed with Aceh traditional clothes, Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Erika Budiarti Laconi and Chair of the Board of Trustees (MWA) Prof. Dr. Tridoyo Kusumastanto wearing Batak Mandailing traditional clothes. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Professors Council (DGB) Prof. Dr. Yusram Massijaya wore traditional Bugis clothes (Makasar), Chairman of the Academic Senate (SA) Dr. Dodi Nandika wore Baduy traditional clothes, and the Institute Secretary Dr. Aceng Hidayat wore Medan traditional clothes.

 

The Faculty Officials did not lose in this traditional costume event. The Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Dr. Luky Adrianto appeared in West Sumatra traditional clothes, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) Prof. Dr. Nunung Nuryartono wore Manado traditional clothes, the Dean of the Faculty of Human Ecology ( Fema) was in Lampung traditional clothes, and the Dean of the Vocational School Dr. Arif Daryanto wore the traditional Bangka clothes. The Head of Research and Community Service Institute Dr. Aji Hermawan, Office Heads, Bureau Chiefs, Directors, Deputy Deans, and Unit Heads looked happy in their regional or national clothes.

 

The uniqueness continued. After the ceremony, the Leaders of IPB University held a Leaders Meeting while still wearing the traditional clothes. Not stopping there, they also gave lectures wearing the traditional clothing. The Rector for example, taught the General Sociology course at the Teaching Lab building while still wearing the traditional clothes.

 

The lecturers and education staff looked comfortable that day, working in traditional clothes, it felt 100% Indonesia!
