“The Ambassador of the Institute is the representation of each faculty. Each faculty selects two people whose duties to assist the activities in IPB as well as to participate in promoting IPB either to SMA or other institutions. We usually become the resource persons of the education fair to SMA and fill various events or become LO (Liaison Officer) in IPB,” said Klasta.
This 5th semester student was active in various intra and extra organizations in IPB. “If in IPB I am active in UKF (Uni Konservasi Fauna) as the general secretary. There we conduct the research and the expeditions to various national parks. Finally, we go to Sabang on an expedition in Indonesia’s outer islands of the westernmost namely Rondo Island. For off campus, I am active in Clean Action i.e. the community in the field of environment in Bandung and also in Seribu Guru in Sukabumi becoming the teacher in the hinterlands of Sukabumi. Other than that, I am also active in the Student Activity Unit of Agria Swara Choir,” explained Klasta.
Klasta explained her experience in the faculty and how was the process being elected as the Ambassador of the Institute. “Initially, the faculty conducts a network through the Student Executive Board (BEM) and the recommendations from the friends and the lecturers, so that it is appointed directly to become the Ambassador of the Institute from FKH. While in FKH I participate in a student exchange group last February to China for two weeks. So that, there we are learning about FKH and the cultural exchange as well. If in FKH, I have ever brought FKH the aerobic champion in the Indonesian Students Olympiad (OMI) and the traditional dance,” she said.
The student from Sukabumi was also actively involved in various community service activities. “Currently, I am preparing a program plan for the community service next year. Every year, FKH holds the community service activities to the islands in Indonesia. Last year to Lombok. Next year, the plan of community service is implemented in Makassar. The activities are divided by sub-districts. We help the farms that are there like giving worms and vaccines and counseling to school,” she said.
She added, the advantages of being the Ambassador of the Institute were learning many things and more loving IPB and could recognize IPB deeper, so that it could give the motivation to the friends of SMA, to be sure to enter IPB. (IRM/ris)
