Rector of IPB Attended the Opening Ceremony of The 24th Tri-U IJSS in Japan
Tri-U International Joint Seminars and Symposium (IJSS) is an annual meeting to facilitate students in conveying ideas and research results in international forums. The 23rd Tri-U IJSS was held at the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in 2016.
This year, IPB sent its delegate consisted of 14-person to participate in The 24th Tri-U IJSS at Mie University, Japan, on 23-27 October 2017. The delegate was accompanied by Dr. Sintho Wahyuning Ardie (Kasubdit Character Development and Mobility, Directorate of Student Affairs IPB) and Dr. Eko Hari Purnomo (Kasubdit International Program, Directorate of Cooperation and International Program of IPB)
The opening ceremony of the 24th Tri-U IJSS was carried out on 24 October 2017, and was attended also by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto; Head of the Bureau of Secretariat of Rector, Dr. Yonvitner; Director of Cooperation and International Program, Dr. Edy Hartulistiyoso.
The 24th Tri-U theme is Global for Local, Local for Global: Glocal University Network for Sustainable Development Goals, with Population, _Food, Energy, Environment, and Children topics.
IPB delegates have made a brilliant achievement by winning the oral and best posters presentation. They won 6 best awards from 10 categories competed. Indonesian Education and Culture Attaché, Dr. Alinda F. M. Zain attended the closing ceremony and the awards granting ceremony. Members of the delegates who won the competitions were as follows:

• Food theme: Karimah Khairunnisa
• Population theme: Laras Salsabila
• Children theme: Dairul Fuhron
Best Oral Presenter
• Environment theme: Muhammad Arfanul Aziz
• Children theme: Aviani Harfika
• Energy theme: Mu'minah Mustaqimah
This activity was attended by more than 100 participants from 6 countries and 11 universities. The next 25th Tri-U IJSS will be organized in Chiang Mai University, Thailand with a special topic on sustainable societies. (Wied)
