Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Economics and Management of Bogor Agricultural University (FEM PB) had implemented its programs Jembatan Agribisnis Indonesia (JAI Bridging Agribusiness of Indonesia). In addition to this program, the Department of Agribusiness also carried out its Student Widyakarya to visit plantations and palm oil mills in Badau subdistrict, Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan and Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, on 15-17 April 2016. This activity was initiated by Dr. Krisnamurthi.
 
Dr Bayu stated that such program tried to bridge the academic activities on campus (lectures, research) with the actual conditions in the field (the practitioner). He explained that such activities will  improve the understanding of the participants, especially students, on the  benefits and development of the oil palm business for the community and the national economy (employment, foreign exchange earner, supplier of raw materials for industries and others).
 
The JAI program was participated by Dr. Dwi Rachmina (Chairlady of  AGB Department), Dr. Suharno (Secretary of the Master of Science Program in Agribusiness), Eva Yolynda A, MM, Feryanto, M.Si (lecturer of Dep. Of Agribusiness) and four students of the Department of Agribusiness. Participants were briefed on the management the oil palm plantations and mills comprehensively. The management of Palm Oil ranging from the management of worker / employee, cultivation, harvest, transport and processing of palm kernel to become Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (KPO) were performed for them.
 
Since its establishment local communities has been involved  in the management of Palm oil farms (petani plasma – farmers) and its factory in Unit Badau. In addition, the oil palm processing plant that produces CPO as its primary product  generate almost no waste. Due to the facts that everything are utilized, its liquid wastes are used as organic fertilizer and its solid wastes are used as fuel in the plant. The said palm oil mill is the only factory that export its product (CPO) to Semenanjung Malaysia by land since 2013/2014.
