IPB Gives Donation and Invites 1200 Orphans/Dhuafa (the poor) to Memorize Asmaul Husna (Beautiful Names of Allah) Monday, July 21, 2014
Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) staged an Aid to Orphans/Dhuafa in 17 Villages around IPB Campus IPB and Children of IPB staff (17/7). This annual event is held at Masjid Al-Hurriyyah, Darmaga Campus. As many as 1,200 people are invited to this event, 1,020 of whom are children in 17 villages around IPB 180 male / female children of the university staff. Vice Head of Community Services, Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM-IPB), Dr. Ir. Hartayo, M.Sc said, "This event aims to raise awareness of IPB academicians to give out some of their fortunes so that those receiving the charity can also enjoy the atmosphere of Ramadan and Eid."
In this activity the children were also invited to memorize asmaul husna in a quick method and motivated to memorize the Qur’an by presenting Quran hafiz from the Faculties, employees of IPB, and sons / daughters of IPB staff along with children from villages around the campus. In addition, the children were also invited to look at Reproduction Rehabilitation Unit (URR), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) IPB so that they know more about the animal as a divine creation.
Vice Chairman of the Prosperity Board (DKM) of Masjid Al-Hurriyyah, Dr. Abdul Munif said, "Welcome to Masjid Al Hurriyyah of IPB. Hopefully with the presence of fathers, mothers and brothers and sisters here Masjid al Hurriyyah can get more blessing." Further, Cikarang village chief also added, "I am, representing 17 Village chiefs around the campus, feeling touched and proud and grateful to God for the big family of IPB who has been many times conducting this noble activity. Through this activity, IPB has shown that it does not only care about the education but IPB is also concerned about our children who have not been of fortunate fate. We thank you greatly, the IPB’s big family."
Head of Regional Development Planning Board (Bappeda) of Bogor Regency Dr. Ir. Hj. Syarifah Sofiah, DMSI, said, "I hope that this activity can be sustained and replicated by others. I appreciate this because preaching and loving-Quran movement is important in the development of the Islamic religion for the children". Further, IPB rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. expressed happiness and requested prayers from the orphans during the event, "Children, let us pray that all those who give charity are accepted by Allah. Let us also pray that IPB would move forward and the lives of villagers around the campus would become better. "
The event was attended by the Mayor of Bogor, Dr. Bima Arya Sugiarto. On this occasion Bogor Mayor said to the orphans, "You can have any dreams but must be the best in the field, and most importantly there are benefits for others. History shows many orphans become great and successful figures or people, but most importantly to be beneficial to their surrounding. I pray you can realize your dreams and when you are successful do not forget your villages." The participants were given aids in the form of money, packets of soap, shampoo, toothbrush, and worship tools such as sarong, female praying clothes, and praying mats. (Mtd)
