Student Choir of IPB “Agria Swara” Won the First Place of the Mixed Choir Category in Switzerland

Student Choir of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) "Agria Swara" has again successfully made international achievement. The Agria Swara successfully won the 1st place for the Mixed Choirs category in 54th International Montreux Choral Festival, held on 4-7 April 2018, at Salle del Castillo, Vevey and Stravinski Auditorium, Montreux-Switzerland.

Delegations from nine countries, including England, Russia, Belgium, Latvia, Spain, Ukraine, Philippines, Bulgaria, and Indonesia participated in the competition. IPB delegation consisted of 44 student choir members, a conductor and the officials. The judges are from Switzerland, England, and Hungary.

Dr. Agus Lelana, the supervisor of Agria Swara student choir expressed his gratefulness of this achievement. Agria Swara student choir has continuously participated and achieved excellent performance in international student choir competitions since 2007. Before winning the first place at the 54th International Montreux Choral Festival, the student choir has also won the first place for Mixed Choir category at the Fourth Edition City of Derry International Choral Festival in 2016 (Wied).
