200 internal auditors of IPB University received a refreshment on IPB’s quality assurance, packaged in a workshop titled “IPB University Quality Assurance: Internal Auditor Implementation,” held on 28/3 at the Ballroom of the Science and Technological Park (STP) Taman Kencana, Bogor.

Prof Agus Purwito, the Secretary of IPB University, stated in his speech that the workshop was necessary for the auditors to refresh themselves regarding the latest data inputs and new changes. He also mentioned that the quality assurance refreshment is done to push for the achievement target of international accreditation for IPB University.

“The internal quality assurance system of IPB University needs to be updated for each Study Program (Prodi) and the Higher Education Database (PD Dikti),” said Prof Agus.

He further explained that this is closely related to the regulations of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Permendikbud Ristek) No. 53 of 2023 concerning Higher Education Quality Assurance, which can automatically process accreditation based on the inputted data, and if it does not match, it will not be accredited automatically.

“There must be an early warning system in each internal audit to input data for accreditation purposes in each study program, this is an absolute requirement that must be done, because if not, it will have fatal consequences for graduates’ delays,” said Prof Agus.

Regarding university standards, the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, provided an overview of university standards in the world. He mentioned that among the most dynamic and evolving are Singapore, Australia, and the UK.

“Study programs must continue to evolve to keep up with the times, in response to the challenges of micro-credentials development, as an instrument to help students get jobs. With micro-credentials, it can provide confidence in the competencies possessed by graduates,” he said.

“I believe IPB University can achieve excellent international accreditation considering IPB University has competent assessors and internal auditors whose knowledge is often used in other educational institutions,” said Prof Arif.

Dr I Wayan Nurjaya, Chairman of the Quality Management Office (KMM) of IPB University, expressed a similar sentiment. “Thank you for the commitment of assessors and internal auditors for the evaluations conducted so far. Evaluation is mandatory for the internal quality assurance system to ensure academic licenses in universities run smoothly,” said Dr I Wayan. (dh/Lp) (IAAS/Hap)
