IPB University Departs 3,316 KKN-T Students to 383 Villages
IPB University Innovation KKN-T students accompanied by regional coordinator lecturers have begun to depart to the designated locations. A total of 3,316 students will begin KKN-T activities facilitated by IPB University as a forum for the implementation of science and the tri dharma of higher education, namely service. KKN-T locations are spread across 6 provinces, with details of 36 districts in 383 villages.
According to the Director of Agromaritime Community Development of IPB University, Dr Handian Purwawangsa, KKN-T Innovation is always carried out every year and is expected to bring IPB University students closer to being able to interact directly with the community. For approximately 40 days, students will carry out various activities with the community.
“This is certainly a moment to implement the knowledge that has been taken at IPB University and become a connector for the community and expert lecturers. This is important considering that IPB University as a university can channel innovations to the community through this Innovation KKN-T,” he said.
The location of KKN-T Innovation 2023 has been determined by IPB University through the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development through cooperation with local governments or several agencies. Some regions have even asked directly to be the location of the KKN-T Innovation of IPB University. “This shows that they believe that IPB University through its students can have a good impact on community development,” added Dr Handian.
Arrived in Garut
On Monday (19/6), 136 students of KKN-T Inovasi IPB University accompanied by Dr Handian arrived in Garut Regency and were welcomed by the local government. Garut Regency became one of the locations of KKN-T Inovasi with details of locations in 6 sub-districts, and 14 villages.
“Thank you to the local government for welcoming IPB University students who will carry out KKN-T Inovasi. We advise students to always maintain the good name of IPB University and be able to implement the knowledge they have learned,” Dr Handian said.
The local government responded well to the arrival of students and hoped that cooperation with IPB University could be established, especially in research and innovation distribution. Garut Regency has a variety of natural resources that are very potential to be developed.
