Prof Yavuz ÜNAL, Chancellor of Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU) Turkey visited IPB University. The OMU delegation was received by the Vice Rector of IPB University in the field of Resource and Infrastructure Resilience, Dr. Alim Setiawan Slamet in the Rector’s Office, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Rector Building, Dramaga Campus of IPB, (24/3).

During the visit of Prof Yavuz ÜNAL, Dr Alim invited him to see the IPB University innovation gallery.

"Congratulations to IPB University for having many patents and innovative products," said Prof. Yavuz. He admitted that he was very impressed with IPB University's various innovations and was very interested about the innovation of analog rice from seaweed.

Dr. Eva Anggraini, IPB University's Director of Global Connectivity conveyed that the visit by the Chancellor of OMU was in the framework of a collaboration plan including the exchange of teaching staff and students. In addition, according to him, IPB University will invite OMU students to take part in summer courses and collaborate in international seminars.

"This is the first time the Chancellor of OMU has visited Indonesia. He wants to promote his university for students in Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, Albana, Assistant Consul of OMU said, the arrival of the Chancellor of OMU to Indonesia was in order to open up opportunities for prospective Indonesian students who plan to study at OMU University.

"I see that IPB University is one of the leading universities in Indonesia. We want to make cooperation in terms of student exchanges, staff exchanges and carrying out joint projects," he said.

Apart from that, OMU is to open opportunities for collaboration with leading universities in Indonesia, including with IPB University. He mentioned the opportunities for cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, technology, medicine and social sciences. (dh/Rz) (IAAS/SND)
