Celebrating Its 63rd Anniversary, IPB University Expands Its Fleet of Buses and Ambulances
More convenient transportation, better prepared healthcare services, and more representative academic spaces are part of the facility upgrades that the IPB University community will experience.
During the opening ceremony of its 63rd anniversary, IPB University added ten new vehicles to its fleet, introduced emergency ambulances, and began construction on several campus infrastructure projects.
IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet hopes that the additional buses will improve transportation services while supporting efforts to reduce emissions on campus.
“Starting today, we will call them the Subscription Operational Buses (Bolang). Hopefully, these buses can be used to improve transportation services while reducing emissions on campus,” he said during the inauguration ceremony on Tuesday (9/1).
According to him, strengthening transportation is one of the steps toward creating a better campus mobility system. The buses are also expected to support the mobility needs of the IPB University community, including those at the Vocational School.
Support for the transportation fleet came from three banking partners. BNI donated seven buses, Bank BRI donated four buses, while Bank Muamalat donated one bus and one fully equipped emergency ambulance.
BNI, Bank Muamalat, and BRI all view this collaboration as part of their efforts to provide benefits to the IPB University community and support the institution’s development.
Donny Chairuman, Senior Vice President of BNI’s Institutional Banking 2 Division, stated, “We hope this support can be utilized to the fullest and help IPB produce the best graduates who will contribute to Indonesia.”
Meanwhile, Novri Wardi, Region Head of Bank Muamalat, expressed hope that this assistance would strengthen healthcare services while supporting the smooth daily operations of the IPB University community.
Similarly, Ganang Imam Waskito, Group Head of the Institutional Division at BRI, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with IPB University. He hopes this support will provide more efficient transportation while promoting the sustainability of the campus environment.
On this occasion, IPB University also held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Administration Building of the School of Data Science, Mathematics, and Informatics (SSMI) and the revitalization of the campus fence. (*/Rz) (IAAS/LAN)
