Agrianita IPB University welcomed Ustaz Abdul Somad as the keynote speaker at the Tablig Akbar 2026 event. Held on Monday (10/26), thousands of attendees arrived early in the morning, filling the Grha Widya Wisuda Building on the IPB Dramaga Campus in Bogor.

This event served as an opportunity to strengthen faith, build character, and emulate the character of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in personal life, family, and the surrounding community.

Preacher Prof Ustaz H Abdul Somad Batubara, Lc, DESA, PhD, Datuk Seri Ulama Setia Negara, emphasized the importance of making moral conduct a guiding principle in various situations.

He explained that moral conduct is not limited to a specific place, time, or environment, but is consistently reflected in daily behavior.

“When it comes to moral character, it doesn’t depend on place, space, or time. Whenever and wherever you are, remain courteous. That is what moral character is,” he said.

Ustaz Abdul Somad cited the example of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, who respected everyone, including children.

According to him, being caring, polite, and respectful toward others are essential components of noble character. He also reminded the audience that a person’s nobility is not determined solely by the depth of their knowledge or the highness of their position, but also by their behavior toward family and others.

In addition to moral character, he urged the congregation to emulate the resilience of the Prophet Muhammad SAW in facing life’s various trials. The story of the Prophet’s life serves as a reminder that patience and steadfast faith are necessary to face difficulties while maintaining the spirit to live life to the fullest.

During the event, IPB University’s Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana, also emphasized that higher education is not only focused on the mastery of knowledge but also on the development of moral character and personal integrity.

According to him, knowledge grounded in faith and noble conduct can serve as a source of strength to benefit society. “True success is not only measured by knowledge, position, or worldly achievements, but also by noble character, steadfast faith, and the benefits brought to others,” he said.

Prof Deni added that character development begins in the family. Therefore, the roles of the family and the educational environment must work hand in hand to instill Islamic values.

He commended Agrianita, an organization that engages women within the IPB University community, for its initiative in organizing the Tablig Akbar. He also expressed hope that this event would enlighten the academic community and the public, further motivating them to contribute to positive activities. (dr) (IAAS/HNY)
