Maintain Campus Order, Department of Forest Management IPB University Holds Socialization of Ethics and Rules of Conduct
Department of Forest Management, Faculty of Forestry and Environment IPB University held an activity “Socialization of Ethics and Campus Life Rules” on 20/5. The socialization was presented by three lecturers of the Department of Forest Management, namely Prof Hardjanto, Prof I Nengah Surati Jaya and Prof Juang R Matangaran.
“The importance of maintaining order and security in the campus environment cannot be doubted. This is necessary so that the teaching and learning process can run smoothly and students can develop their potential optimally. In this context, the regulation of the Rector of IPB University has an undeniable central role,” said Prof Hardjanto.
Meanwhile, Prof I Neng said the socialization of this regulation was not only a guide for students, but also the foundation of a conducive and productive campus environment.
“From academic aspects to behavior outside the classroom, this regulation embraces various dimensions of student life. In fact, by making comparisons with previous regulations, it is clear that adaptation and evolution efforts are made to keep up with the times,” he said.
Another lecturer, Prof Juang said that the regulation covers various aspects of campus life. Comparisons between prohibited articles from previous regulations highlight the adaptation and development over time.
“Student prohibitions and obligations cover a wide range of areas, including academics, appearance, behavior, traffic, use of facilities, to criminal and health issues. Violation of the rules can lead to sanctions ranging from verbal reprimands to termination of student status, according to the level of violation that occurs,” said Prof Juang.
He continued, to handle this, the Disciplinary Commission is present at various academic levels. The flow of examination, recommendation, and sanctioning is regulated in detail, ensuring a fair and proportional process.
