The Science and Technology Regional Institute Business Incubator (LKST) or Science Techno Park (STP) IPB University received an A accreditation Award at the Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) Incubator Award event which was held at Novotel Tangerang, on 8/12.

The award was given by the Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Ir Siti Azizah. She said that the role of business incubators is very important for startups in developing businesses starting from training, mentoring, mentoring, coaching and business matching.

“The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs also organises various national and international scale business matches involving potential startups from various incubators. “Through the incubation program, it is hoped that startups can go global and next year we will focus on the incubation program for Indonesia’s leading sectors, namely agriculture, aquaculture and technology,” said Azizah.

Assistant Deputy (Asdep) for Information Technology Development and Business Incubation at the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises, Christina Agustin, in her report conveyed the ranking or accreditation mechanism for Business Incubators.

“This year, 31 Business Incubators were registered, then a team of assessors assessed the form filling. “The assessment criteria include the quality of the management team, policies and support from the incubator parent institution, infrastructure and incubation services, facilitation of startup financing, quality and performance of startups as well as impact on society and so on,” she said.

Chairperson of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika Budiarti Laconi accompanied by Asbid Business Incubator, Deva Primadia Almada, was present to receive the Incubator Award. Prof Erika thanked the Ministry of Cooperatives and UKM for the award given.

“Over the last two years we have actively collaborated with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs in various incubation program activities, including training, coaching, Bogor Entrepreneur Hub, Interactive Startup Talkshow with the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, and business matching,” said Prof Erika.

She said the award would increase the motivation, enthusiasm and passion of the LKST IPB University Business Incubator team in improving the quality of startup incubation. (stpipb/Lp) (IAAS/AMR)
