IPB University Holds Retirement and Appreciation Ceremony for 125 Retired Employees in 2023

IPB University held an appreciation ceremony for retired employees in 2023. This activity was held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor (6/12).

Director of Human Resources at IPB University, Dr Heti Mulyati, said that in 2023, in terms of personnel administration, there will be 125 employees who will have entered retirement. Of this number, there are 38 lecturers and 87 educational staff.

“This year’s retirement ceremony is the largest retirement activity that has ever taken place at IPB University. “Raising the theme ‘Happy Retirement, Maintained Friendship’, this event sees that retirement is not the end of everything, but merely an administrative change in personnel,” he said.

Dr Heti continued, this retirement event aims to convey appreciation and thanks for the dedication and sacrifice for more than 30 years working at IPB University.

The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, said, “Our task after retirement is to be able to become productive individuals, make contributions and empower others.”

Furthermore, IPB University is committed to providing valuable experience for employees during their careers at IPB University.

“Happiness is measured by the presence of a good family, good friends and a good job. Therefore, finding and maintaining relationships with good friends is a source of happiness,” he said.

The Rector of IPB University for the 1998-2002 period, Prof Aman Wirakartakusumah, who was present as a resource person, said that retirement is a beautiful journey in life that one should be grateful for in all conditions.

According to him, the retirement theme reflects the atmosphere of retirement, which is actually the beginning of a new journey that is full of meaning and full of hope.

“Entering the retirement phase requires a positive attitude, because retirement is not the end of everything, but the gateway to a new chapter in life,” he said.

“Being grateful and remaining humble are the keys to maintaining relationships during retirement. IPB University is not just a place to work but a big family that strengthens the ties of friendship that have existed for many years,” said Prof Aman. (dr/lp) (IAAS/SND)
