Agathis, Batch 21 Alumni Donate Smart TV for IPB University Dormitory
Agathis, a term for IPB University alumni batch 21 donated 10 Smart TVs for IPB University Dormitory. The handover of 10 Smart TVs was carried out by the Chairperson of Agathis, Ir Nelly Oswini and received by the Head of the IPB University Dormitory Management Unit (UPAMI), Dr Suratni at the Dormitory Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, (12/7).
"UPAMI is a supporting unit at IPB University with its main task is the management of student dormitories on campus. In the activities of fostering and developing dormitory infrastructure, we cannot run alone, so it requires synergy and collaboration from faculties, schools or alumni," explained Dr Suratni.
IPB University is known as one of the state university campuses that has students from all parts of Indonesia. This is based on the long history of IPB University's student admission system which attracts high school students from all over Indonesia.
Dr Suratni said, in fostering dormitory people, greetings for IPB University students who live in dormitories, UPAMI synergises and collaborates with stakeholders and related units such as the Directorate of Student Affairs and the Directorate of General Competency Education (PKU). Thus, intellectual development, personality, character, solidarity and improvement of soft skills for PKU Dormitory and Leadership Dormitory people can be achieved.
"The donation in the form of 10 Smart TV units is very supportive of activities in the dormitory. Digital information packaged in the form of audio visual is the best alternative to provide education related to student dormitory governance, so that it is imprinted in them 10 characters of strong dormitory people, high empathy and accompanied by action. Hopefully, the synergy and collaboration from alumni for dormitory students will never stop," she concluded.
Ir Nelly Oswini, Chairperson of Agathis said that the provision of Smart TV for the IPB University dormitory was alumni support for the alma mater. Not only facilities, Agathis is also ready to provide educational support, training or in the form of expert talks for IPB University students.
"We are ready to help what is most needed which is very useful for students. Alumni try to do their best, giving back to IPB University. We are also ready to contribute as foster parents. Agathis is always ready and willing to work together," he said.
Director of Alumni Relations, Drh Sukma Kamajaya, MM expressed his gratitude for Agathis' concern for IPB University. He hoped this step could have an impact on other batches to contribute to the alma mater.
In the event, there were representatives of professors from Agathis, namely Prof Yandra Arkeman, Chairperson of IPB University Communication Bureau, Ir Yatri Kusumastuti and a number of representatives from various related directorates. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
