IPB University Wins Two 2023 Freedom of Learning Awards from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture
IPB University received two awards in the 2023 Independent Learning Award from the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek). The 2023 Freedom of Learning Award was handed over by the Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Makarim, at the Peak of the 2023 Freedom Learning Month Commemoration at the Trimurti Building, Prambanan, Yogyakarta, (28-29/5).
At the Merdeka Learning Award event, IPB University received the two best awards, the first name, Obtaining the Largest Partner Contribution in Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM). Second, IPB University was chosen as the Best Matching Fund Program Organizer.
The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria expressed his gratitude for the achievement of IPB University by winning the Freedom of Learning Award in 2023. According to him, this achievement is a trigger for IPB University to continue to be a trendsetter for change and provide the broadest possible impact on society.
“With the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM) program, IPB University has been present in 4,200 villages in Indonesia and will continue to grow,” he said.
The awarding of the Freedom of Learning Award in 2023 is a form of appreciation to IPB University as one of the tertiary academic institutions that organize MBKM.
In the last three years, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture has launched 24 episodes of Freedom of Learning which focus on transforming the Indonesian education system, particularly on the aspects of learning, funding and management. This step is an effort to realize superior Indonesian human resources.
Remembering the journey and achievements of the Freedom of Learning movement, on the commemoration of National Education Day this year, the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture has designated May 2023 as the Freedom of Learning Month with the theme Moving Together Enlivening Freedom of Learning.
