HIMASITER Faculty of Animal Science IPB held a Feed Formulation Training

This is the 13th time the Animal Food Nutrition Student Association, Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Agricultural University (HIMASITER) held a "Feed Formulation Training", precisely on September 15-16 2018 at Dramaga IPB Campus.

After the success in 2017 with the theme of Ruminants Feed Ration and Processing Formulation Based on Indigofera sp, this year HIMASITER carries the theme "Website-Based Ruminant Ration Formulation in Complete Ration Silage Making".

The implementation of training activities is one manifestation of students' concern for the world of animal husbandry in Indonesia. The special concern is that the biggest production costs that farmers have to pay is feed. Therefore, with Feed Formulation Training, it is expected that it mproves breeders' skills in carrying out ration formulations so that the use of feed becomes more efficient.

The 2018 FFT activity was attended by 41 participant. Several training materials were provided by professional trainers and several professors of IPB Faculty of Animal Sciences including:
Introduction of Feed Materials and Their Evaluation by Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara;
Application of Science and Technology in Silage Logistics Management by Prof. Dr. Luki abdullah;
Introduction of Total Mix Ration Conservation and Precision Farming Industrial Age 4.0 by Dr. Despal;
Feed Formulation with Least Cost Balance Nutrition Ration Using a Website by Dr. Idat Galih Permana; and
Silage Juice Processing Technology Application by Prof. Dr. Nahrowi.

FFT participants were very enthusiastic on participating in the training, thanks to the discussion forum between fellow participants and speakers.

"This training is very interesting with the material presented, the committee is also very friendly from the start of registration to helping the lodging reservation process and the mobilization process to the training location. It is recommended that next year also invite banks such as the director of PT Bank BRI Syariah which is the alumni of Faculty of Animal Sciences IPB, so that participants also understand economic analysis in the world of livestock, "said Mira, one of the participants from the Directorate of Feed, Ministry of Agriculture.

The high amount of enthusiasm by some 2018 FFT participants also appears from the desire to participate in the upcoming FFT. (jhn)
