IPB Students Generate Creative Ideas through PKM Seminar
The association of Agronomy and Horticulture (Himagron) students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a Student Creativity Program (PKM) seminar 2018 at IPB Dramaga Campus (25/3). The seminar entitled "Raising Creative Souls for Real Agronomic Contributions" was a form of contribution of Agronomy and Horticulture (AGH) students to participate in the National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) and to develop innovation in the field of agronomy in the future.
"35 % of PKM that goes to Pimnas stage takes the topic of agriculture, followed by waste, environment and health and the last is a creative micro business. Thus, the opportunity is very large for agronomy students to go to Pimnas stage since agriculture still becomes a crucial problem until now," said Fadhilatul Laela, one of the resource persons who had won Pimnas before.
PKM is also an important thing for post-campus life because university graduates are required to have knowledge and skills.
"Why is PKM important? Well, university graduates are required to have the knowledge and skills. By participating in PKM, we will get knowledge and skills of thinking, management and communication that are mutually related to each other," he added.
Meanwhile, according to Murthezha Hadijaya el Hasyibi, another resource, said that the limitation of ideas in PKM is also influenced by how well the performance of each participating member. To limit the idea among group members for avoiding any conflict, the intention of each group member, the professional team compositions and the clear idea boundaries should be a concern.
Head of Himagron's Student Resource Development Department, Fahmi Lukman Abdullah, said that AGH will keep proposing their ideas to IPB to be funded to Pimnas. AGH itself also emphasizes to the students to make AGH and IPB proud.
"Agronomy itself tends to agri creativity and if it works, it could be a new innovation in agronomy," Fahmi said. (TK)
