Directorate of Integration of Data and Information System (DIDSI) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) organized the activity of “Sosialisasi Pemutakhiran Konten Website Unit Kerja IPB dan Sosialisasi Lomba Web IPB 2015 / Socialization of Updates of Website Content of Working Unit of IPB and Socialization of Web Competition of IPB 2015”, (30-31/10). The activity inviting the managers of website of the working units in IPB was carried out in Sahira Hotel, Bogor. This activity aimed to improve the management quality of the institution website in order towards World Class University (WCU), and to improve the website performance in the working units in IPB to support the ranking of IPB in Webometrics.
Director of IDSI of IPB, Dr. Idat Galih Permana, stated that the website was a means of publication and promotion of the excellence of IPB which was effective to the wider community, and the web was a benchmark of a university ranking. He declared, “Through the improvement program of the reputation of a university to the World Class University, IPB should reach the target of ranking of the world’s 500 or 200 of Asia level version of QS World University Ranking”.
Web competition of IPB was carried out with the aim of increasing the quality and quantity of information as well as the sustainability of the renewal of website of working units in IPB and as the effort to meet the standard of WCU and to make the web as the medium for the publication and promotion of the excellence of IPB. The participants of this competition was the webs of Faculty, Department, Study Program of Postgraduate, Office, Directorate, Bureau, Secretariat, Center of Studies and Research Institute, Student Organization, Lecturer Blog, Staff Blog and Student Blog in IPB. The judging was based on ten criteria and having its own weight in the assessment taking place on 23-27 November 2015, and would be announced in next December 2015.
Some of the materials and practices presented in this activity, including the concept of information governance of institution by optimizing the function of the website, the writing technique to enrich the content of website information, the socialization of migration of server cloud, the troubleshooting of network connection and the understanding of the error in the website, displaying the internationalized data information (outstanding achievement), and the ranking of Webometrics and the attempt to WCU.
DIDSI of IPB presented several some resource persons including Head of Bureau of Legal, Promotion, and Public Relations (HPH) of IPB, Ir. Yatri Indah Kusumastuti, M.Si; Head of Public Relations, Bureau of HPH of IPB, Siti Nuryati, STP. M.Si; Staff of Sub-directorate of Network and Infrastructure of DIDSI of IPB, M. Hasan Rokhim, A.Md; Head of Sub-directorate of Data Integration of DIDSI of IPB, Dr. Irman Hermadi; and Lecturer of Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of IPB, Firman Ardiansyah, S.Kom, M.Si. “We have the task of updating the data related to the ranking of Webometrics and WCU. Kindly the managers of web working units may follow because the role of the managers is very important toward the assessment of the overall of IPB. I would like to express my gratitude to the managers, hopefully, this activity may be useful for the managers and for IPB,” said Dr. Idat Galih Permana. (RF)
