IPB Stages Appreciation Night for BUD Partners
On 15/10, IPB held an Appreciation Night for BUD (Regional Representative Scholarship) Partners of IPB with the theme “Building Regional Partnerships” at IPB International Convention Center (IICC). BUD is a system of student admission for the undergraduate and graduate programs of IPB recommended and financed by the central government, local government, private company or institution, in which after graduation the students are expected to return to their home town/region to build their regions.
Institute Secretary of IPB, also Chairman of the BUD Organizing Committee, Dr. Ibn Qayim stated, “The event is part of the cooperation of IPB with BUD partners. BUD is unique ? sometimes it begins with cooperation in the form of research, and the other way around. The activity is entirely cooperation to strengthen the relationship between IPB and partners, and the presence of BUD alumni who will return home to build the region will strengthen our cooperation and relationship in the future.”
IPB Rector, Prof. Dr Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc said, “Your presence, Ladies and Gentlemen, is proof of our close relationship, and we can maintain and improve it in the future for our mutual benefit. We are having this appreciation night to honor and thank partners for their dedication to education. “Further, Rector pointed out, “Agriculture in the region is of great potential. I hope this cooperation will not only send the best graduates from the region to IPB, but students can go back to build their regions and after that we accompany them, and give “a playing region” suited to their competencies with supervision and facilities to enable them to get lessons from entrepreneurship activities conducted in these regions respectively.”
This event also invited representatives of BUD partners to give testimonies, for example, Drs. H. Syamsuar, M.Si (Siak Regent), Ir Agus Yulianto, MM (Head of Corporate Social Responsibility of PT Antam), and Nina Nurlina Pramono (Executive Director of Pertamina Foundation). The partners expressed thanks and gave input for the future development of this program. Apart from the testimonies, there was a video show of testimonies from the students receiving BUD. The students thanked the funding sponsors and BUD program of IPB. Some students also expressed their commitment to return home and build their own regions after completing education in IPB. This event was also enlivened by an exhibition of IPB?s innovation and an innovation presentation by Prof. Dr Ir. Munif Ghulamahdi, MS, who described a breakthrough or technological innovation of increasing soybean productivity on tidal land. The event ended with giving souvenirs to BUD partners and taking pictures together. (Mtd)
