Student Thesis Might be Utilized as Source of Business Enterprises
Student thesis might become the source of inspiration for entrepreneurship. "Whenever you need to get creative ideas, visit the IPB library. The entire thesis collections of the library might be utilized as source of business opportunities, "said Founder of Misterblek Coffee, Mr. Basri Adhi, in the Studium Generale ‘Pembekalan Pra Wisuda (Pre Preparatory Graduation)’, on Tuesday, 18 December 2012, on Darmaga campus. Basri got the best formula for his Misterblek coffee after he has learned a thesis of student of Agricultural Technology, IPB.
After graduated from the university, Basri tried to get job as journalist and he was successful. The former editor of the Bulletin Katalis of Faculty of Agricultural Technology, IPB, then he began his other career in the national newspapers. After having been working for nearly 10-year in the national media and he took the post as the General Manager Marketing, then Basri changed his job. "I have fed up to work as an employee, and I wanted to start my own business. I began to run various businesses. I started duck farming, publishing popular journal and so on, but most of them did not last longer or failed miserably, "said Alumni of the Department of Industrial Technology of Agriculture, IPB.
With such experiences, Basri suggests for alumni who wants to be entrepreneurs, to practice as early as possible. Whenever necessary, those new graduates should make a resolution or dreams. This is so that the graduates have clear goals and dreams. "All of us want to make our dreams come true, then we will definitely be connected with other small dreams. It will strengthen our dreams as well as helping to realize the other’ dreams, "he added.
Vice Rector for Resource and Development of IPB, Prof.Dr.Ir. Hermanto Siregar, M.Ec, in his remarks expected that as much as 10 percent of IPB alumni will become entrepreneurs. "Even only ten percent of IPB alumni who will become entrepreneurs, certainly the result will be remarkable. They can help the government to eleviate its burden in generating new jobs, "he said. This special activities was organized by the Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations, IPB. On this special event the Organizing Committee invited one of the successful alumni, Dr. Rozan Anwar, Co Founder of Daya Dimensi Indonesia. (Wied).
