What do we learn, that enable us to get a job at a Bank?
How come Sir, the graduate of Agribusiness get a job at a bank? What do students learn at the Department of Agribusiness of Bogor Agricultural University, that enabled them successfully got jobs at banks? Was a question raised by one of ten students who attended the Socialization of Bogor Agricultural University for the year 2012, in Surakarta, Boyolali and Wonogiri, at the question and answer session, on Wednesday, 25 January 2012, at the Dana Hotel Surakarta.
To response those questions, the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bogor Agricultural University, Dr. drh. Srihadi Agung Priyono explained, while the new students were at the Common First Year Level (TPB), they were given the subjects which might support their future life. "They also learned subjects that might broaden their insight on agriculture that will make them to be strong analyzer in agriculture. They are important subjects for banking systems, as the majority bank’ clients are large companies engaged in agriculture, "said Dr. Sri.
Other questions were raised by other visitors of the Socialization of Bogor Agricultural University for 2012, among other were the competence of individual Department of the University that includes the Department of Silviculture, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Biosystems. One of the participants also queried about the possibility of students majoring in social studies to be admitted into the University. All questions were answered clearly by Dr.Sri. At the end of the event, one of the visitor who was a teacher MAN 1 Surakarta, he expressed the students and their teachers interests to plan a Study Tour to visit Bogor Agricultural University.
The special event which was attended by 46 teachers and 116 high school students of Surakarta and its surroundings areas were entertained by Nasyid team of a high school in Surakarta. On the day before or on 21 January 2012, Organisasi Mahasiswa Daerah (OMDA) (Regional Student Organization) Ayumas of Surakarta, participated the Education Exhibition held at SMAN 3 Surakarta. The event was participated by various universities including the University Negeri Sebelas Maret (UNS) and the University of Gadjah Mada (UGM). The exhibition was so attractive, the booth of the University were visited by about 300 visitors. The visitors were very impressed with the excellence IPB products such as cassava brownies, jambu crystals (guava), cooked corn rice and so on. (Wied).
