The Excitement of IPB Mission Target
Applause along the seats of Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW) has become a new episode of spirit for the students receiving Mission Target Scholarship. Clearly, this initial meeting had been anticipated more than a thousand recipients of the scholarship. The new episode is called Semarak Bidik Misi 2011 (Excitement of Mission Target 2011). This event was held by the Association of Mission Target in collaboration with the IPB Directorate of Student Affairs as a means of gathering the fellow scholarship recipients as well as those from the Directorate of Student Affairs. In addition, the event was to improve soft skills, socialize the management of Mission Target Scholarship in IPB and give academic motivation approaching the Odd Semester Final Examination of 2011.
On 18/12 at GWW, the Excitement of Mission Target was attended by 1134 students receiving the scholarship, which presented the Art Dormitory Club, one of the percussion groups from TPB Dormitory in the Opening Ceremony, dance performance by Gentra Kaheman, Live Acoustic hosted by students representatives for the Mission Target of Batch 47, and launching of the IPB Mission Target Jingle. In this event the announcement was also made for the winners of the inspirational story contest for the students who get the Mission target scholarship.
Kurniawan Dwiyanto, Chairman of the event committee hopes this activity has a better effect on the participants. Present on this occasion were Dr. Rimbawan as Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Eko Sri Wiyono as Director of the Common Preparation Program (TPB) and Megawati Simanjuntak, SP, MSI, as Head of IPB Sub-Directorate of Student Welfare. Leo Wibisono, an achieving student at both IPB and national levels, also came to give academic motivation to the participants. Leo really hopes the students with the Mission Target scholarship to become more motivated to make both academic and non academic achievements. Furthermore, he expects in two or three years the outstanding students will come from the students of Mission Target. "It is really motivating me," said, one of the participants.
The Inspiring Story Contest is especially for those receiving the Mission Target scholarship. The outcome of this contest is an inspiring Story Book as the works of IPB such students, which will be submitted to the Minister of Education and Culture of Indonesia. Of the total 188 stories, 10 winners are selected. Here are the winners of the inspiring stories with their titles:

Second Winner of Hope 2: Anita Aprilia (Batch 48) Devine Color Dip, Transformer of Nation Child’s Fate
Favorite Winners: Rudi Hartomo (Batch 48), Prawito Hudoro (Batch 47), Yoni Elviandri (Batch 47), Ilham (Batch 48), and Jauharotul Khasanah (Batch 48).
The presentation of soft skill materials by the Director of Student Affairs was the core of the event, which was followed by an evaluation panel with the Head of Sub-Directorate of Student Welfare. Here, an opportunity was taken to share ideas and determine the next targets of achievement in 2012. Through the soft skill training for the scholarship recipients, it is expected that their skills can improve to become man of character. The event was closed by Febri Fazri, the motivator of ABCO.
