IPB is Ready to Establish Leadership School for Leading Lecturers
Responding to the changes in digital era, Human Resource Directorate of Bogor Agricultural University (SDM IPB) held a discussion and presentation with the theme “Role of Departments towards Technopreneur University”, Thursday (5/7) in IPB International Convention Center, Bogor.
“Achievements won by departments is also achievements of IPB, so this program can be a media to share inspirations, not to compete. We have to formulate IPB strategy, which direction that we want to go. Don’t let IPB to be dragged down by disruption era and eventually forgotten eventually,” said IPB Vice Rector in Resources, Planning, and Finance, Dr. Agus Purwito in his opening speech.
Similar ideas were also delivered by the Director of SDM IPB, Dr. Titik Sumarti, “This discussion is one of the training process for departments in running their programs to support IPB’s vision and missions in the future as a technopreneur university,” she said.
Aside from a form of monitoring and appreciation for programs and achievements of departments in last year, this moment also marked the establishment of Leadership School for heads of departments in IPB. This Leadership School is also a form of training for leading lecturers which has a purpose to build up confidence as the best leaders, specificially in IPB.
“Sharing between IPB departments is very important, keeping in mind that each department has its own unique issues. An issue faced by Department A could have been solved by Department B. It needs a certain strategy to embrace IPB personnels to strive and achieve together. So, this discussion is a media to learn from each other,” said the project leader of this event, which was also the judge, Prof. Purwatiningsih.
She added that leading programs from departments will be adopted as IPB’s leading programs, so they can expand their influence. “I hope that this discussion and sharing session can be continued in coming years, so departments in IPB can be even more achieving,” she said.
This program was attended by IPB’s deans, vice deans, and heads of departments. Also present was the Vice Rector in Education and Students’ Affairs, Dr. Drajat Martianto and Vice Rector in Innovation, Business, and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Erika Budiarti Laconi. (Ard)
